As I near the end of my doctoral degree, I’ve been thinking a lot about my voice as a musician and the role of reharmonization in contemporary jazz. Lately, I’ve been exploring contrapuntal reharmonization - finding ways to balance the movement of inner voices and maintain clear chord structures while preserving the melodic essence.
