Esbjörn Svensson Piano Solo Transription - The Return of Mohammed

Transcription of swedish pianist Esbjörn Svenssons solo on "The Return of Mohammed" from the album "From Gagarins Point of View" by Esbjörn Svensson Trio from 1999.

Might be some small errors since I am new to transcribing. This solo was fun to transcribe and learn, although it is a bit unconventional.

I really like the use of the aeolian scale instead of the more common dorian. Svensson really uses the flat 6th and there are a lot of really nice phrases mixed with a small bit of blues and let’s not forget the crazy runs in the middle of the solo. Overall a nice solo with some cool chords and a very dynamic structure.
