Now in its 48th season, Austin City Limits has become the longest running music television show in history. ACL is a long-form music performance television show airing weekly on PBS stations nationwide. Taped live at The Moody Theater in Austin, Texas, the show is known for its high-quality production values and its dedication to showcasing both up-and-coming and established musical icons including Willie Nelson, Stevie Ray Vaughan, B.B. King, Bonnie Raitt, Foo Fighters and many others.
ACL is the only television show to have been awarded the National Medal of the Arts and won a rare institutional Peabody Award in 2012. Both the current and original ACL studios have been enshrined as a Rock & Roll Landmark by the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Museum. The Rock Hall also houses the Austin City Limits archives. In 2002, ACL inspired the launch of the annual Austin City Limits Music Festival, now also a beloved Austin institution. Visit acltv.com and pbs.org/austincitylimits for more.
