For transcription #24 I’m posting this grooving Fender Rhodes solo by the late Swedish pianist Esbjörn Svensson. This is from the great Nils Landgren Funk Unit album “Paint It Blue” Sadly, Esbjörn was another brilliant musician that was taken from us too soon. Definitely a pianist to check out. He had such a great sense of time and grooves hard equally over straight time and swung rhythms. I really like how he incorporates his left hand as a rhythmic device in this solo. Some strong bluesy playing while stretching outside the harmony a bit also. Fantastic Fender Rhodes sound and recording as well! Def 10/10 points…
